After showcasing it in the concept form at Auto Expo 2016, TVS Motor Company has begun testing its all-new quarter-litre segment motorcycle on Indian roads. Almost certain to be named as Apache RTR300, the new offering will take on the likes of Bajaj Pulsar RS200, Honda CBR250R, & KTM RC 200 & 390. It will be TVS’ first-ever full-faired offering that on mechanical front will be identical to the BMW G310R but will be designed, crafted and engineered in Indian context.
The camouflaged test mule was spotted testing in Southern region of India. Although, not much of the information is visible in these images but believing the source and evaluating its overall built, it’s none other than the awaited TVS. The Apache RTR300 will be powered by a 310 cc single-pot liquid-cooled motor. It’s being derived from the G310R and will deliver power in the range of 32 PS. Motor should be highly refined and will come packed with a 6-speed gearbox. In simple words, it should be able to fulfill your all performance bike fantasies.
Looks of the Apache RTR300 will be hugely influenced from Akula 310 concept and will come loaded with all sports-spec fitments like clip-ons, soft rubbers, stiff suspension and of course an intense exhaust note. As seen in the image, the bike will also sport daytime running LEDs while equipment like Anti-lock braking system will be optional. TVS is likely to offer few class-leading features also on this bike.
In terms of price, the full-faired Apache should be in the range of KTM RC200, Bajaj Pulsar RS200 and Honda CBR250R. Launch of this bike you can expect near mid-2017.
Stay tuned for more updates!
